Brisa partnered with Hope the Mission and the County of Los Angeles to purchase and adaptively reuse a hotel into 100 units of permanent supportive housing in Palmdale. In this desert community north of Los Angeles, there is a large unhoused population and punishing weather. Using HomeKey 3.0 funding, the development team spearheaded a gut renovation of the large existing building, using healthy building materials and providing each unit with its own kitchen and bathroom. A beautiful new construction community wellness center surrounded by a peaceful garden takes the place of surplus parking onsite, further supporting resident health and well-being.
